School-Based Support for Your Clients

School-based therapeutic services

As a school-based behavioral health program, Altacare is proud to partner with therapists who work with children, adolescents, and teens throughout Montana. While our services are primarily delivered in the educational setting, we know that for sustained recovery to occur, our students need wraparound support after the school day comes to a close.

What We Treat

Behavioral health disorders we treat

Often, mental health conditions impact a young person’s ability to access their education and form healthy relationships with peers. As a Tier 3 intervention, Altacare’s programming works in harmony with Montana Behavioral Initiative’s model for positive behavioral support in schools. As such, we serve students whose needs are beyond what can be met by a classroom teacher or school counselor. We typically work with students who are struggling with one of the following mental health conditions:

  • Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Trauma-related disorders
  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Depression
  • Child and parent relational problems

Please note that we are unable to service students with a conduct disorder or substance use disorder diagnosis at this time.

Working Together: Wraparound Support

Collaborating with mental health professionals

Whenever possible, we seek to involve our students’ families and other treatment providers in our treatment planning process. When we share clients, you can expect regular communication and updates from the Altacare team, and we will invite you to participate in meetings to discuss and monitor your client’s progress. At Altacare, we believe in working side by side with therapists in our communities to meet the needs of the young people we serve.

Not sure if your child needs help?
Together We Can Change Lives

The most rewarding part of being a therapist at Altacare of Montana is seeing kids grow into who they’re supposed to be rather than letting their disorder control their path.
